Testimonials from Parents
"We're using your material with our 13 year old son. It seems to be making a connection with him (finally [something does]!!). I would like to link your site to ours in order to make people in our area aware of your curriculum." Laurie, HCHE "I received this today and all I can say is WOW! Well that and Thank You! Just opening the box the girls were so intrigued by the bright colors and all that they wanted to begin going through it tonight. :-) This really looks great and I wanted to come over here and personally thank you. Have a blessed day!" -- Christine W., Texas "Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with The Five Finger Paragraph. My 5th grader considered writing a form of torture, but, he hasn't complained once since starting this. Thanks!" P. Todd, Tennessee The Five Finger Paragraph teaches students to write paragraphs and essays without the battles! Have you ever seen your child "glaze over" when you mention the words "paragraph" or, even worse, "essay"? All the student needs is a "helping hand," The Five Finger Paragraph. The texts are colorfully illustrated, easily assimilated by even the youngest students, and are written for K-12 students (you don't have to purchase additional materials for several students in a family!). The Home School/Study Kit serves parents and students. Visit The Five Finger Paragraph for more information. HEIR.org, The Home Education Information Resource I am all about helping my hands-on kids to memorize important--but often boring--skills. Writing does not come naturally for me and I really wish I had had this product in school. It makes writing perfect paragraphs and five paragraph essays simple and fun. My older ones have to write a little each day and this enables them to learn good structure in a fun way. M. Bright, Alabama The Five Finger Paragraph is just what you'll find helpful for those students who need kinesthetic reinforcement for paragraph and essay writing. Get the "HomeSchool Kit", which includes a parents' edition, student edition, 2 quick guide cards, 2 bookmarks, 5 wall charts, and 1 dry erase marker. You'll find this product economically affordable and made to last for years! Tapestry of Grace (website)
______________________________________ August 3, 2005 -- My initial thoughts about The Five Finger Paragraph I just received my Homeschool Kit for The Five Finger Paragraph and WOW! WOW! WOW! I'm really going to like this program. I've struggled with how to go about teaching my kids how to write. I'm not the world's best writer and I sure wish that I had been taught how to write using The Five Finger Paragraph method! I had to take Writing 101 in college and I didn't learn as much in one semester as I did in 30 minutes of looking through the Teacher's Manual today -- honestly! The product is for grades K-12 and covers teaching "the basic structure of paragraphs and essays." Because I have not begun this instruction with my kids yet, we will start at the beginning with the 3 Weeks of Lesson Plans geared for initial introduction to grades K-1. It will NOT be "too easy" for my 4th and 6th graders. The activities can be done by any grade level. I expect us to go through the 3 weeks quicker than that because my kids are older. After this introduction, we'll begin working on writing the Five Finger Paragraph for a week or two (2 weeks of Lesson Plans). Then we'll move on to writing a Five Paragraph Essay (2 weeks of Lesson Plans). The kit includes well-laminated forms to use with dry erase markers so the kids can practice before they put pen to paper. I'll review each stage after we've gone through the lessons, so keep watching for updates! Kris Price (review for homeschoolblogger.com)
